Vista Alegre - VAA Internation Design Pool

The project Christree was developed during an artistic collaboration at the selective and prestigious VAA International Design Pool program by Vista Alegre Atlantis, a renowned Portuguese porcelain manufacturer with a rich history since 1824. The program facilitated an exchange of ideas between Portuguese and Brazilian artists, inspiring this project.

As a Portuguese-German hybrid, I aimed to connect Portuguese, Brazilian, and German cultures. Inspired by Vista Alegre’s existing Christmas tree design, I used it as a foundation. The piece features Bremen (Germany) with its snowy Christmas market, Costa Nova (Portugal) with its striped colorful houses, and Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) with the Christ the Redeemer statue. Mistletoe at the bottom adds a subtle detail, making the Christmas tree a unifying element that celebrates the shared spirit of the holiday across cultures.

While developed in the context of this international collaboration, the visual and conceptual approach reflects my personal narrative and intent to explore cultural connections through design.
